The celebration is open to the public and will include a program by Dr. Joseph J. Wydeven on The Home Place by Wright Morris, the 2010 One Book One Nebraska selection. One Book One Nebraska is a statewide reading program encouraging all Nebraskans to read and talk about the same book. Throughout 2010, Nebraskans have been reading, discussing and learning about Wright Morris, The Home Place, and the interaction between photo and text. 2010 One Book One Nebraska is hosted by the Lone Tree Literary Society and is sponsored by the Nebraska Center for the Book, Nebraska Humanities Council, Nebraska Library Association, Nebraska Library Commission, and the University of Nebraska Press. Public nominations for the 2011 One Book One Nebraska were submitted in June and July.

The only annual display of multicultural literature in Nebraska, opens Monday, October 11, at the Lincoln Public Schools (LPS) District Office located at 5901 O Street. The event, which runs through Friday, November 19, is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The public is invited.
